Prepare Devices for EVV

Overview

Residex EVV requires location access through your web browser to track service visits accurately. This guide will help you enable location services on your device and browser to use Residex EVV effectively.

Location Accuracy

  • GPS-enabled devices (smartphones, tablets): Accurate location tracking
  • Non-GPS devices (desktop computers): Approximate location determined by IP address

First-Time Setup Process

Step 1: Initial Permission Request

After Residex EVV is enabled, the first time you use each device to chart a service, your web browser will display a pop-up asking for location services permission.

❗️Critical Step: You must click "Allow" or "Accept" to authorize Residex to continue.

Step 2: If You Accidentally Block Access

If you click "Block" or "Deny" the location permission, you will not be able to document services. You must remove app.residex.ai from your browser's blocked websites list by following the device-specific instructions below.

Android Device Setup

  1. Open Settings
  2. Navigate to:
    • Newer Android versions: Settings > Location

Set App-Specific Permissions (Android 11 and newer)

  3. Try incognito/private browsing mode to test
  4. Check system-wide location services are enabled
  5. Contact your IT department or administrator if problems persist

Permission Pop-up Doesn't Appear

  1. Check if you previously blocked app.residex.ai
